Why should I install Hyatt eDeals? Why should I download Hyatt eDeals, why not just send the deals in weekly emails? What operating systems are compatible with the Hyatt eDeals application? The Hyatt eDeals application guarantees delivery of messages direct to your desktop, thereby ensuring you have instant access to the most up-to-date information about the hotels you're interested in. Top of page Q: What operating systems are compatible with the Hyatt eDeals application? A: Hyatt eDeals will run on Windows Vista, Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro, and Windows 2000 with a minimum screen resolution of 1024 x 768. Hyatt eDeals does not currently run on Macintosh. A: 56 kb connection speed it will take approximately 6 minutes DSL/Cable modem it will take approximately 12 seconds LAN it will take approximately 2 seconds Top of page Q: How often does Hyatt eDeals application check for deals? A: Once a day the Hyatt eDeals application will check to see if there are any latest deals. The time Hyatt eDeals checks is based on the time you entered or updated your profile. Top of page Q: Does Hyatt eDeals consume a lot of my Internet bandwidth? A: No. The typical interaction to submit and receive information about Hyatt hotels completes in seconds. As a result, there is no impact to overall Internet bandwidth and will not affect other activities, such as web surfing and file downloads, that occur concurrently. Top of page Q: I noticed that Hyatt eDeals runs resident on my computer, how much CPU utilization does it use? A: The Hyatt eDeals application is a highly efficient program that utilizes very little resources. When not actively connecting to the Internet to receive the latest information about Hyatt hotels, the application utilizes zero CPU time. Even when actively downloading the latest information, the CPU utilization typically remains under 5 percent. And since this activity completes within seconds, the overall impact to system resources is negligible. Top of page Q: How do you temporarily turn off the Hyatt eDeals application without uninstalling it? A: Just right-click the Hyatt eDeals icon in your taskbar and select 'Exit' to close the application. Hyatt eDeals will start up automatically the next time you reboot your computer, or it can be restarted at any time by selecting it from the Start menu. Top of page Q: I installed Hyatt eDeals but I can't see the whole screen. Why is that? A: The minimum screen resolution for Hyatt eDeals is 1024x768. You need to adjust your screen resolution. Go to the Start menu in Windows. ![]() Select "Control Panel." ![]() In the Control Panel, select "Appearance and Themes" and then select 'Change the screen resolution' The display properties dialog will open up with the 'Settings' tab active ![]() Select "Using the slide bar, change your settings, to at least, 1024x768 and then select 'OK.' Top of page Q: I installed Hyatt eDeals some time ago but I haven’t gotten any deals. Why is that? A: There may be several reasons that you have not received any deals. First, the location that you selected may not have had any last-minute deals. Second, Hyatt eDeals needs Internet connectivity to check to see if there are any last-minute offers. If you computer is not connected to the Internet, you may be missing out on last-minute deals. Top of page Q: My favorite Hyatt location is not available. Why not? A: Hyatt eDeals is currently only available for Hyatt locations worldwide, excluding Park Hyatt, Hyatt Vacation Club, Hyatt Place and Hyatt Summerfield Suites. Stay tuned as these Hyatt locations may be added in the future. Top of page Q: I don’t like the Pop-up Screen that appears when I get last-minute offers from Hyatt. Can I turn this off? A: Yes. Go to the Hyatt icon in your system tray. Using your mouse, right-click on the Hyatt icon and select "Connection Settings". ![]() Uncheck the option of "Pop-up screen". ![]() Now when you get a last-minute offer from Hyatt, the Hyatt icon in the system tray will blink and then after 30 seconds, change to a different state. Top of page Q: How do I update my Hyatt profile? A: Go to the Hyatt icon in your system tray. ![]() Using your mouse, right-click on the Hyatt icon and select Configure Preferences. Your Hyatt eDeals profile screen will be displayed and you can update any of your entries. Top of page Q: How is my Hyatt preferences information used? A: Hyatt uses your preference information to provide relevant travel deals based on the locations and preferences you have selected. This information is used only to deliver eDeals to your desktop and is not transmitted, stored or redistributed for any other purposes. Top of page Q: Does the application track any of my web surfing? A: No. Hyatt eDeals only captures your Hyatt location preferences. Hyatt eDeals does not track or capture any other information. Top of page Q: Is my information kept private and secure? A: Yes. Hyatt eDeals is covered by the Hyatt Privacy Policy. All data transmitted through the Hyatt eDeals application is secured with SSL, which is the accepted standard used on ecommerce web sites to secure data over the Internet. None of the data collected in the Hyatt eDeals application is ever sold or re-distributed to any other organizations for marketing pruposes. Top of page Q: Who is DataLode? A: DataLode is Hyatt's technology partner. DataLode provides the technical infrastructure for Hyatt eDeals. DataLode’s privacy policy clearly states that DataLode does not collect, own or rent any information captured using DataLode’s technology on behalf of their clients. In addition, DataLode’s technology is not spyware or adware and is a safe and permission-based communication tool. DataLode strictly prohibits any unauthorized data gathering practices.
